CHANGE OF TOPIC AND ZOOM LINK FOR FRIDAY. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are going to need to change the topic of Friday's meeting. The hope is to reschedule the DOC/LRA/ USE of the ACUTE tool for a monthly meeting in 2025..
The updated Zoom link for this Friday is at the bottom of this message!
Updated Topic: Computer/Internet Monitoring
Many of us with clients who are not court ordered into treatment or who have bench supervision end up being accountability partners for our clients with computer/internet monitoring.
The first goal of Friday' discussion will be to discuss how people feel about being in this role and whether they feel like it is appropriate as a therapist to monitor our clients' online activity.
The second part of the discussion will be about different apps and programs people are having their clients use, and discuss the pros and cons of each..
The third part will be about how people are dealing with devices such as smart TVs, gaming consoles, handheld gaming devices and other internet capable devices that are for the most part unmonitorable at this time.
This is intended to be an informal discussion vs.a presentation. Please come ready to discuss areas that have gone well in addition to your struggles with this part of our work.
Discussion Leader: Dan Knoepfler, LMHC, Certified SOTP
